Tella provides 1:1 English native tutoring via chat, where a customer would talk and receive instant corrections on their English sentences from their native English tutor. Tellas service is not only convenient where you can use the service any-time, anywhere, but innovative because it helps the mediocre, low-motivated English learner to overcome their psychological barrier to English. Also, because learning is text-based, Tella can analyze customers English data and provide customized learning content based on their English proficiency. Problem : 1. Market side: There is a psychological barrier to current online phone/video English services, thus students easily give up. 2. Supplier side: 83% of Ugandan university graduates are jobless. Not being able to build university graduates is a huge waste for economic and social development of the nation. Other East African countries (Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya) have the same problem with similar statistics. We believe that TELLAs services are innovative in the global online English education because of text-based learning. Tellas services are innovative not only in the sense of lower the psychological barrier an English learner may have, but also that text data is the best form of data to analyze and provide customized learning experience. This will bring many low-motivated learners to continue practicing English with a native tutor and improve their English conversation skills.
