Sciency is an augmented reality portable science lab for secondary school students. Thousands of African schools do not have the adequate physical models required for applied science learning due to their expensive nature, making science more abstract and difficult. Physical science models tend to get damaged and worn out, or even stolen. With COVID19 currently affecting school closures, Science students are the most affected as they no longer have access to laboratories. Science requires applied learning and that is why the Sciency app provides these learners with a pocket laboratory to explore science phenomena through the use of augmented reality technologies on a smartphone. Africa will need an additional 100 million scientists to develop homegrown solution shows research. Our platform is targetted at rural and urban learners in Sub Saharan Africa.
