Dialectiq collates and systematises information from a variety of sources, to enable true collaboration, creating a shared, living picture of how key relationships, power and behaviour are changing over time.

1. Build consensus across a broad range of stakeholders One of the functions of Dialectiq is to help users to challenge their own preconceptions and to understand the perceptions of others. The platform has helped build a consensus across a broad range of stakeholders and identify those stakeholders with a political will for change. The analysis can be updated on a continual basis and provide comparisons across different contexts. This is helping reduce the overall time spent by staff on conducting political analysis and is making their findings more accessible to a much broader audience. This is making it easier for a broader range of stakeholders to participate and explore the role they can play in supporting the change process. 2. Building a common vision for action and continual learning The Dialectiq platform helps users to develop detailed and structured analysis of key relationships breaking each down into discrete problems or opportunities. This helps organisations to work with other relevant stakeholders to identify entry points that can bring about systemic change with a low level of effort. Helping stakeholders to agree on a portfolio of approaches for moving forward and how they can contribute. With the additional capacity to continually update the information, stakeholders can test their approaches, which increases the ability for groups to adapt their strategies and continually learn as the context evolves.

Problem

Only through greater collaboration between people from international agencies, to local and national institutions as well as community members can meaningful systemic change take place. However harnessing collective powers is extremely challenging, due to huge variations in people's perceptions and interests. At present there is a lack of tools that can incorporate multiple alternative perspectives. Making it impossible to develop a common agenda and participate in joint learning exercise.

Solution

Dialectiq is online visual software that supports organisations to collectively think through the process of supporting political change. Dialectiq’s unique analytical framework helps users develop stakeholder maps that analyse relationships and identifies people with the behaviours and levels of power to transform these relationships. The visualisations present this highly complex data in a simple and digestible manner that makes it easier for a broad range of actors to participate.

Target Beneficiaries

At Dialectiq our prime motivation is to promote inclusive peace and support sustainable economic development, therefore we will focus on people affected by conflict. Dialectiq will improve the ability of international aid programs to deliver more effective and meaningful change, therefore the beneficiares will be the millions of vulnerable people that are currently affected by the inability of international aid programs to build inclusive political solutions.

Mission and Vision

Dialectiq is online visual software that supports organisations to collectively think through the process of supporting political change. Dialectiq visions is to create a human centred design approach where those affected by the outcomes are integral to creating solutions. Our vision is to create an online platform where development organisations jointly with affected communities or their partners can develop agile, efficient programs that harness the powers of the collective.

Competitive Advantage

Dialectiq is the first initiative of its kind to that can supports organisations to collectively think through the process of supporting political change. Dialectiq is the only platform that combines political economy and complex systems thinking to create a human centred design approach where those affected by the outcomes are integral to creating solutions. Dialectiq uses its own unique analytical framework that helps users develop stakeholder maps that analyses differing relationships and identifies people with the behaviours and levels of power to transform these relationships. The visualisations present this highly complex data in a simple and digestible manner that makes it easier for a broad range of actors to participate.

Planned Goals and Milestones

To create more efficient programs and to ‘scale-up' we are creating a software called Dialectiq to operationalize this analytical framework. This innovative platform takes practitioners through a ‘change journey', creating interactive graphics that unravels the complex power dynamics and allows them to adapt their interventions and track changes as the context evolves.
