Under the circumstance of coronavirus spreading around the world, the traditional in-class teaching and learning activities are greatly influenced, especially in less-developed countries. DotEdu seeks to facilitate inclusive learning opportunities for children and youth during this period of unusual educational disruption.

In this uncertain environment, it’s important that learning continues, even if it can’t happen in person. Schools and universities haven’t faced this level of disruption in generations, but unlike any time in the past, we have the ability to continue education even when schools close. In this uncertain environment, it’s important that learning continues, even if it can’t happen in person. Schools and universities haven’t faced this level of disruption in generations, but unlike any time in the past, we have the ability to continue education even when schools close. DotEdu has been built to assist institutions in automating their processes and enhance remote learning. This also means that these tasks can be done solely by the system, freeing up those involved to perform more important tasks. Some of the most common uses include: 1. Data Management 2. Fees collection and management 3. Finances management 4. Transport and Hostel management 5. Attendance management 6. Parent, Student, Teacher communication tool 7. Inventory management 8. Exam - Results management 9. Online Teaching via ZOOM etc..

Problem

School closures widen learning inequalities and hurt vulnerable children and youth disproportionately. From the beginning of 2020, the novel coronavirus outbreak emerged and is spreading around the world, which becomes an ongoing public health emergency of international concern.

Solution

Despite this unprecedented situation, there is a useful body of knowledge on schooling during prolonged crises. DotEdu refers broadly to ensuring continuity of education and its related activities to support children’s resilience and well-being and reduce anxiety during an emergency as remote e-learning solutions can mitigate the immediate disruption caused by COVID-19 and establish approaches to develop more open and flexible education systems for the future.

Target Beneficiaries

At DotEdu, We believe Quality Education is an education that works for every child and enables all children to achieve their full potential. With a feature to incorporate ZOOM in DotEdu, our automated approach makes it more scaleable for teaching to be undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. We aim to impact Educational institutions that prepare their own courses and they want to offer them through ZOOM which is integrated into DotEdu.

Mission and Vision

Despite the unprecedented situation, this innovative approach will help pioneer many of the conveniences of students and hence resulting in the kind of education that is research-proven to be just as effective as conventional instructions. As with most real-world activities, there are numerous benefits of using software to digitize a school system. The most apparent to this project is the unification of the entire process.

Competitive Advantage

DotEdu is ahead of the curve in Sierra Leone, providing full automation of all the functions of school administration and achieve the goal of paperless administration. Apart from serving everyone in the academic field, DotEdu works wonders as an easy-to-use technology solution to face the challenges and improve the way schools are managed. It also helps administrators of schools boost their productivity and reduce the time and effort to manage schools and accurately organize data. As a web and mobile-based interactive application, it connects schools, students, and staff seamlessly to manage school processes efficiently and reduce the workload drastically. DotEdu helps in organizing various aspects of the school system including admission, timetable, fees, examination, reporting, etc, helping administrators to access, manage, and analyze data and processes for quick and well-informed decision making.

Planned Goals and Milestones

As an expendable tool, Cloud Education has been transformative in other countries especially during this Pandemic. We seek to create new value people are willing to use and pay for. Sierra Leone like many other African countries is yet to benefit from mass technological transformation. We want to deploy DotEdu in all educational institutions across Sierra Leone; hence digitizing the educational sector.
