ALYVE UK has launched a fund to support local youth forums during COVID-19, as part of its ongoing 'ALYVE & Kicking' small grants initiative.
It's more important than ever that local youth forums are able to identify young people's needs and perspectives on the situation regarding COVID-19 within their communities, and act on them! That's why ALYVE UK is providing small grants to local youth forums across Scotland: to help facilitate them in understanding young people's experiences, views, and opinions in regards to the impact of COVID-19 through research or consultation and advocate on their behalf.

Eligible applicants must meet ALYVE UK’s definition of a local youth forum. ALYVE UK defines local youth forums as “groups led by young people (aged 12-26) which aim to understand and advocate for young people’s views within the local area in which they are based” - though applications from groups with differing definitions of ‘young people’ are still accepted. Additionally, the applicant must have an eligible bank account (i.e. a specific account for your organisation, or access to one from a relevant team/department within a local authority).

Projects and initiatives that are eligible for funding are any that seek to better understand young people’s views related to COVID-19 within the area in which the applicant operates, and then to advocate on their behalf to relevant decision-makers and public authorities.
After projects are completed we ask that we are presented with a short final report evaluating the project. Guidelines for final reports are flexible, and can take whatever shape successful applicants think best.
